Elisha Abas is a great-great grandson of Russian composer Alexander Scriabin and the last protégé of legendary pianist Arthur Rubinstein.Star-pupil of Israel’s eminent pedagogue Pnina Salzman, Abas personifies the strong willed and highly expressive character –in addition to the prodigal talent – central to the makeup of a true virtuoso.
Called “one of the most refined and interesting pianists, of our generation” by La Roma” Abas –searching for his true self had abandoned the musician’s life for over a decade to become a professional soccer-player, lawyer and family man only ultimately make his way back to the piano and share his unique gift with international audiences…”I realized I need my music back in my life.”
In July he will join the charismatic Gustavo Dudamel as soloistwith the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra.
On June 19th, at LePossoin Rouge, Abas will perform a selection of works by Chopin, Schumann, Liszt , Gershwin and Yedidia.
